What is the difference between Award, Certificate and Diploma?
Depending on how detailed the qualification is and how long it might take to complete, ILM qualifications fall into three sizes:
Regulated qualifications are reviewed and accredited by a regulatory body that assures the qualification offers a quality syllabus, learning outcomes, assessment and teaching strategies. The assessments of regulated qualifications are undertaken fairly to guarantee that the certificate is recognised as a valid achievement. Regulated qualifications are recognised worldwide and provide a pathway to a higher level of study. Employers also value regulated qualifications, and employees who achieve them gain a competitive advantage over others.
In the UK, qualifications at schools and colleges are regulated by Ofqual, which maintains a register providing more details on each qualification and its awarding bodies. To ensure quality assurance, regulated qualifications are reviewed periodically so learners obtain up-to-date skills and knowledge and have confidence in the qualifications they pursue.
Are ILM courses regulated?
All ILM qualifications are awarded by The City and Guilds of London Institute which was founded in 1878 and is incorporated by Royal Charter and, are regulated by OfQual.
